I’m in! xo~hillary
Hi Jim, looking forward to the success of this third (and maybe fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh) album/s!
cheers!
Jessel
Can’t wait!
Jim, you are mad. I don’t know what you are trying to pull here. Still, the last time you played out, it was amazing.
Dan, subscribe to the blog and all will be made clear.
35 is a good number, right?
Other than 001, maybe the best.
♥♥♥ wait for the album ♥♥♥
50 is a my lucky number, Jim!
This is the most exciting development of 2011! My only concern is that we are not being asked to pay *enough* to be a part of the eternal wall of friendship.
that’s Pearis not Pearls…and you can call me Bill. Only paypal calls me William.
Can’t wait to hear the new record!
Thanks Bill! The girls in the typing pool express their deep regret.
Can’t wait for “1965″!!!
“Oh Brother Where Art Thou” and “Sniff” are classics. I love when they come up during my i-pod shuffle. “Every Other Sunday” has always been a wonderful song for me.
Jim, Stephanie, and company:
The year was 1995. It was my sophomore year at Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska. I lived off-campus with a couple of roommates who were communication arts majors and worked for the college radio station. They were always bringing home plenty of free promotional albums. One day Oh Brother Where Art Thou was in the daily pile of new finds. I threw it in the player and gave it a listen. The clean jazz guitar and the male/female vocal harmonizing took my breath away. “Why can’t more groups make music like this?” I thought to myself. But then again, I wouldn’t want the market TOO watered down. Anyway, I’m waxing nostalgic tonight thinking about your wonderful musical talents. You guys deserve to be bigger than you already are in my mind. To this day I will try to hunt down that first album and keep spreading the word to anyone I deem hip enough to understand your artistic style. Someday I’ll make it to the Minneapple and hopefully see you live. STAY COOL!
Hey, Jim…have you considered making this into a Kickstarter project? Pretty impressive results over there, and makes it easy to spread the word virally via FB and such…
God damn. I can send you a message without having to log onto facebook!…
Jim, this is the greatest news I’ve heard since that time you told me you were moving to California. I hope this plan works out better than that one.
I’m only #78? And this started last January? This is downright pathetic. At this rate the album will never come out! C’mon people! I’m going to have to offer the Maz K. DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR CHALLENGE. That’s right. I will match any donation made through this website during the next 30 days. Seriously.
Have you recorded this yet? Don’t let Allen Clapp use that ProTools garbage (Hi Allen!). Go analog – just like they did in 1965. Otherwise, this album is going to sound worse than your haircut looked. Actually, you looked pretty good.
Wait a minute. Is this going to be a vinyl release? Or is this one of those download only deals?
I’ll shut up now.
- Maz
P.S. Shirley Rose loves her Funseekers T-shirt. When I told her where it came from she said “Minneapolis? Do you think he can get me a Hypstrz shirt, too?”
Hey Jim, how about an update? How are things going??
I just got married and this will free up some time for the third album project. No more excuses, upward and onward!
I’m 33 like Jesus Christ and I hope the vinyl Lp coming out of this long wait. By the way it’s JoAquin. Hello Ruben and Javi Abad.
Well it’s always nice to be 007…
Man oh man, I am loving this release. Thanks for writing and recording a bunch of great tracks again. I can’t wait to see the Set! ’bout dang time, Jim

[...] I was tickled to lend some guitar and vocals to the new Legendary Jim Ruiz Group record laid down a few weeks ago; the first in fourteen years (really? fourteen?) which will be coming out this year. Produced by Allen Clapp and featuring Emily Cahill, Charlotte Crabtree and a stellar cast of guest stars– this is going to be a gem. Pre-order it here, and you will be added to Jim’s Eternal Wall of Friendship. [...]
